About Justie Dee

Justie Dee Nicol graduated from Colorado State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in political science and accounting. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2007. Those formative years set the stage for a legal career rooted in local bar work and community involvement.

She joined the Colorado Bar Association in 2007 and later became a member of the Idaho Bar Association in 2010. Over the last decade she has combined bar membership with active participation in regional groups. Her name appears on rosters for the Larimer County Bar Association and the Larimer County Women’s Bar Association, and she has been involved with the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.

Nicol’s civic activity extends beyond the bench and the bar. She has participated in the Fort Collins Rotary Club and the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2016 she was listed with WOLF Pack, an organization for women-owned law offices. That same year she engaged with both the Solo and Small Firm Sections of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association. Those ties reflect an interest in the practical business side of running a small practice as well as sustaining professional networks.

Her professional listings include multiple entries associated with the Colorado Lawyer Team. Those entries suggest recurring editorial or contributor roles, or involvement with state-level lawyer publications and projects. She has kept a presence in Colorado legal circles while also maintaining her Idaho license. Her dual-state licensing has allowed her to follow work that crosses state lines and to remain responsive to clients whose matters touch both jurisdictions.

Colleagues describe Nicol as attentive to the administrative and organizational demands of practice. She has balanced professional association work with local civic engagement, building a practice profile that draws on both legal training and community ties. Her background in accounting and political science also informs how she approaches case preparation and client counseling.

As of 2026 she continues to be licensed in Colorado and Idaho and maintains a solo or small-firm practice handling matters in the jurisdictions where she is admitted.
