About Christopher William Van

Christopher William Van Hall grew up pursuing an interest in language and law. He earned a B.A. in English from the University of Florida in 2007 and went on to receive a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2012. Those academic years framed his turn toward public service and municipal practice.

He began his public-sector legal career in West Palm Beach. In 2013 he joined the City of West Palm Beach as a staff lawyer. Two years later he advanced to an assistant city lawyer role for the same city. In 2017 he moved west to serve as an assistant city lawyer in Fort Collins. In 2020 he took a position as an Assistant Lawyer General at the Colorado Lawyer General's Office. The sequence charts a steady movement through city legal departments into state-level government work.

The positions he has held gave him sustained exposure to legal issues that affect cities and public entities. As a city lawyer he worked on legal matters that arise day to day for municipal clients. His time in the Colorado Lawyer General's Office expanded his experience within a state government legal team. Those roles provided a background in public law, regulatory matters and the intersection of government operations and legal obligations.

After nearly a decade in public service, he shifted to private practice. He now leads a small practice that takes on employment-related matters. The move did not erase his municipal years; it extended them into representation of individuals and organizations on workplace issues and related legal concerns. He is licensed to practice in both Florida and Colorado, and that dual admission informs how he advises clients across different state systems.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and grounded in municipal and administrative experience. He applies the skills learned in city counsel offices and in the state legal environment to private employment disputes. He draws on courtroom familiarity from government practice and on drafting and advisory work that municipal roles demand.

He operates Van Hall Employment Law and handles cases for clients in both Florida and Colorado. He currently practices at Van Hall Employment Law, handling employment law matters.
