About JP
JP Sawyer began his legal training at the University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1990 before returning to Tuscaloosa to complete his J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law in 1993. His education placed him in a familiar legal community and provided the foundation for a long career in private practice.
After law school Sawyer entered practice in Alabama and advanced into firm leadership. In 2000 he became a shareholder at Beasley Allen Law Office, a role that signaled a shift into senior practice and organizational responsibility. His time there involved working on client matters and contributing to the firm’s operations at a high level.
A decade later Sawyer took on a new chapter in his career. In 2010 he became the managing partner of Sawyer Law Office, assuming day-to-day leadership and oversight of the firm’s work. As managing partner he handles administrative duties alongside client matters and helps set practice direction. His role combines case oversight with management responsibilities common to small and mid-sized law firms.
Throughout his career Sawyer has participated in professional organizations. He holds memberships in the Alabama Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the Mississippi Association for Justice. Those affiliations connect him to peers across state lines and offer resources for continuing legal education and professional engagement.
Colleagues and clients have encountered Sawyer in roles that require both legal judgment and administrative decision-making. He has spent decades in private practice, representing clients and steering firm priorities. His experience spans shareholder responsibilities and running a law office, and it reflects a steady presence in the Alabama legal community.
He currently focuses his practice on client representation and the management of Sawyer Law Office, overseeing the firm’s matters while attending to the legal needs of those who come to the office for assistance.
