About Cristina
Cristina Rustad-Mejia earned her law degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University after completing an undergraduate degree in science with an emphasis on criminal justice at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Her academic path combined the technical and policy sides of criminal justice with formal legal training. The combination shaped an approach to practice that values careful analysis and clear advocacy.
Rustad-Mejia’s path into the profession moved from classroom to bar membership in two states. She is a member of both the Colorado State Bar and the Alabama State Bar, and she is licensed to practice in Colorado and Alabama. Those dual admissions allow her to handle matters that cross state lines and to assist clients whose needs span different jurisdictions.
She serves as Of Counsel at Hollis Wright. In that role she offers counsel on a variety of matters handled by the firm and supports litigation and advisory work as required. The title reflects an experienced practitioner who provides legal services and institutional knowledge without being positioned as a day-to-day partner or associate. Colleagues at the firm turn to her for steady judgment and practical legal analysis.
Her undergraduate emphasis on criminal justice informed her studies at law school and helped frame early interests in legal procedure and evidence. At the same time, law school training at Thomas Goode Jones introduced broader doctrinal work, including civil litigation and statutory interpretation. That combination of coursework and early practice experience has made her comfortable in both advisory settings and contested proceedings.
Outside of her work at Hollis Wright she maintains active memberships in the state bars of Colorado and Alabama. Those memberships require continuing legal education and adherence to professional rules. Maintaining standing in two bars can be administratively demanding, and she manages those responsibilities while contributing to firm matters and client work.
Colleagues describe Rustad-Mejia as methodical in preparation and composed under pressure. She places emphasis on factual accuracy and careful briefing. She presently practices as Of Counsel at Hollis Wright and handles matters in Alabama and Colorado as part of her current practice focus.
