About Josh
Josh Pipkin built his academic foundation at Auburn University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2006. He moved on to Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and earned his J.D. in 2009. Those years set him on a path from numbers to statutes. He left law school prepared for public service and the practical work of a courtroom.
He began practicing in municipal and county government almost immediately. In 2009 he served as a prosecutor for the City of Enterprise, handling cases that ranged from ordinance violations to more serious municipal matters. The following year he took on the role of county lawyer for the Coffee County Commission. That position placed him at the intersection of law and local government operations, advising officials, drafting documents and appearing on behalf of the county when legal issues arose.
Those early roles shaped his approach to legal problem solving. Time in a prosecutor’s office teaches a lawyer to think on his feet and to present arguments clearly. Work for a county commission introduces the procedural side of public law and the constraints of government decision-making. He supplemented that practical experience by training in dispute resolution and becoming a certified mediator through the Dispute Resolution Center. The certification added another tool to his toolkit: a way to resolve conflicts without trial when the facts and the parties allow.
Pipkin practices in Alabama and has continued to work close to the communities where he started. His background means he is familiar with municipal ordinances, county procedures and the kinds of disputes that arise between neighbors, local businesses and government entities. He has handled courtroom matters and administrative advice, and he has moved between advocacy and neutral problem solving by sitting in the mediator’s chair when appropriate.
He maintains an office at the Historic Rawls Hotel. The location ties him to the local bar and the regional legal landscape. He is available for counsel, representation in matters that fall under municipal and county law, and for mediation services. He currently focuses his practice on mediation and local-government matters.
