About Joseph W

Joseph W Vanover earned his law degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1998. He moved quickly from graduation into private practice and bar membership. He joined The Missouri Bar the same year and began building experience in both firm settings and the public sector.

He started his career as an associate at Witt & Hicklin, P.C. in 1998. By 2001 he had become a shareholder when the firm operated as Witt, Hicklin & Vanover, P.C. Those early years were spent managing client matters, drafting pleadings and appearing in court on behalf of business and individual clients. The work required steady attention to procedure and an ability to handle the practical demands of litigation.

In 2003 Vanover took on a role in public service as Executive Assistant Prosecuting Lawyer for the Platte County Prosecuting Lawyer's Office. That position put him in the courtroom on the other side of the docket. He oversaw prosecutions and worked with law enforcement and victims’ advocates. He also served his local bar; he was president of the Platte County Bar Association during 2019 and remained active in county-level professional circles.

Across his career Vanover has moved between private practice and public office. Those shifts produced a mix of trial experience and client counseling. Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic. He focuses on clear preparation for hearings and trials and on practical strategies for resolving disputes. He has relied on courtroom experience gained both as a prosecutor and as a litigator in private practice.

Today he practices under the name Vanover Law LLC. He is licensed in Missouri and remains a member of The Missouri Bar. His practice centers on courtroom representation and client counseling in matters that come before state courts. He maintains an active presence in the Platte County legal community and continues to handle cases that require trial readiness and procedural know-how.

He currently practices law in Missouri at Vanover Law LLC, focusing on courtroom representation and client counseling in state courts.
