About Joseph P.
Joseph P. Pope built a steady path from political science student to law firm leader. He brings an orderly approach to practice and firm management. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and direct in meetings and court settings.
Pope earned a B.A. in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University before attending the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctor. His academic background in government and law shaped an interest in how rules and institutions affect everyday people.
After law school he entered private practice. In 2019 he joined McCoy Peterson, Ltd. as a lawyer. There he worked on a range of matters, handling client counseling, case preparation and courtroom appearances. The experience exposed him to both transactional work and contested matters and gave him a grounding in practice management and litigation strategy.
A year later he helped establish Longley & Pope Law, PLLC and in 2020 became a managing partner. In that role he took on administrative duties alongside client work. He oversaw case workflows, coordinated with other attorneys and managed the firm’s operational needs. The position required balancing business concerns with the demands of active files.
Pope is admitted to practice in Minnesota and maintains memberships in professional associations. He participates in local legal networks and workplace collaborations that support the firm’s work. He has continued to prioritize steady case handling and clear communication with clients and opposing counsel.
Today he practices at Longley & Pope Law, PLLC. He handles matters on behalf of clients in Minnesota and manages the firm’s daily operations. His current practice focuses on representing clients through his work at Longley & Pope Law, PLLC in Minnesota.
