About Jorge
Jorge Altamirano built his legal foundation with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in 2009 and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2013. He completed his formal legal education in New Orleans, a city whose courts and legal community often expose young lawyers to a mix of civil and common law traditions. That training set the stage for practice in the densely regulated and litigious markets of the Northeast.
He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey and maintains active membership in the State Bar of New York and the New Jersey State Bar. Those dual admissions allow him to accept matters that cross state lines and to advise clients about procedural differences between the two jurisdictions. Membership in both bars also reflects an early choice to practice in a region where state rules and local court practices matter.
Altamirano is associated with Iorio Altamirano LLP. At the firm he works with colleagues who handle a range of legal matters in the two states where he is licensed. His work there involves court filings, client counseling and negotiation. He handles the practical tasks that move cases and transactions forward, including drafting pleadings, preparing documents and engaging with opposing counsel and court personnel.
Colleagues describe Altamirano as methodical in his preparation. He draws on the analytic training from law school and on practical lessons learned in active courtrooms. He tends to approach problems by breaking them into discrete steps, addressing immediate procedural needs while keeping longer-term outcomes in view. That approach is useful in environments where deadlines and local rules can shape outcomes as much as substantive law.
Outside of specific casework he has stayed involved with the bar organizations in both states. Those memberships provide access to continuing legal education and professional networks. He has used those resources to stay current on changes in court procedures and state rules that affect litigants and counsel.
He currently practices at Iorio Altamirano LLP, handling legal matters in both New York and New Jersey.
