About Jon Andrew
Jon Andrew Jacobson began a path that moved from literature and magazines to the courthouse. He earned a B.A. in Writing Seminars and French from Johns Hopkins University in 1990 and an M.A. in French Literature from New York University in 1991. After several years outside law, he returned to school and received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1998.
Jacobson's early professional life was not in a law office. He worked as an assistant editor at Motor Boating & Sailing Magazine for Hearst in 1992. In 1994 he shifted to finance, taking a trader position at Banque Paribas, Paribas Capital Markets. Those roles gave him experience in publishing and markets before he pursued legal practice.
His legal career began while still in law school, when he spent a summer as an associate at White & Case in 1997. After graduation he joined Steel Hector & Davis as a lawyer in 1998. Two years later he moved to Greenberg Traurig, where he became a shareholder in 2000. In 2014 he launched Jacobson Law P.A. and became its managing partner. He has served in that role since, overseeing a small firm that handles litigation and transactional matters.
Jacobson holds admissions across several federal and state jurisdictions. He is a member of The Florida Bar and the Massachusetts Bar, each since 1998. He is admitted to practice before the 1st, 10th, and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in approach. His background in both markets and editorial work is evident in his handling of complex documents and negotiations. He spent more than a decade at national firms before founding his own practice. That experience informs how he manages cases and client relationships now.
At Jacobson Law P.A. he handles matters that span litigation and transactional work, drawing on his years in both corporate and litigation settings. He maintains offices by appointment and operates from a main office in Palm Beach County. He continues to be an active member of state and federal bars and practices in multiple federal circuits and district courts. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and related transactional matters.
