About Taren L.
Taren L. Castro built a career that moves between public service and private practice. Her early years in criminal justice and later work in courts and agencies give her a mix of perspectives that she brings to her law practice.
Castro’s academic path began with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida International University in 2004. She continued in the field with a master’s degree in criminology and criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University in 2011. After working in law enforcement and related roles, she returned to school and earned her J.D. from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2017.
Her professional record begins before law school. In 2009 she served as a Florida State Trooper for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. She also worked in the insurance industry as a supervisor at People’s Trust Insurance Company in 2008. After law school she took on roles that combined litigation support and client services, including a 2019 law clerk position at Schwed, Adams & McGinley, P.A., and staff associate work for a healthcare firm. She spent 2020 as an associate attorney at both Hoffman and Hoffman, P.A. and Flores Law Office, P.A.
In 2021 she served as an Assistant State Lawyer for the 15th Circuit. The following year she held a position listed as Assistant Lawyer General at the Office of Lawyer General, and she established The Castro Law Office, PLLC, where she is identified as a lawyer and managing member. Her private practice experience sits alongside the public roles she has held.
Castro is active in local and state legal organizations. She is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association, both since 2022. She joined The Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Estate Planning Council in 2023. In 2024 she became a member of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Professional Fiduciary Council of Florida. These memberships reflect an engagement with probate, trust and business topics that intersect with her work.
Clients and colleagues have seen a steady evolution in Castro’s practice from criminal-justice beginnings to estate and business matters. She practices in Florida and maintains her office at The Castro Law Office, PLLC. Her current practice handles estate planning, probate, real property and business matters.
