About John S.
John S. Cha earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in 1983 and completed his J.D. at the University of Washington School of Law in 1986. Those years shaped his early outlook on the law. They also set the stage for a long legal career rooted on the West Coast.
After law school he established his practice in California. He is admitted to practice in that state and has been associated with Raines Feldman LLP. At the firm he has worked alongside other attorneys on matters brought by and against businesses and individuals. His time at Raines Feldman has been part of a steady professional path spanning several decades.
Cha’s legal background bridges a broad span of experience. Coming out of law school in the mid-1980s, he has practiced through periods of change in both litigation and corporate practice. He has managed cases and client matters that required navigating procedural rules, discovery, and courtroom practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in approach and attentive to legal detail, and clients have relied on him for practical counsel on thorny procedural and substantive questions.
Outside of the courtroom, his law school education and earlier undergraduate studies inform his approach to research and advocacy. He draws on those academic foundations when preparing briefs, analyzing statutory and case law, and advising on strategy. Over the years he has developed a working familiarity with California practice, local rules, and the procedural dynamics that shape outcomes in state venues.
Today he continues his work at Raines Feldman LLP. He handles matters for clients who turn to him for representation in California. He currently practices at Raines Feldman LLP and focuses on serving clients in California.
