About Joel

Joel Silberman earned his law degree from Seton Hall University, receiving a Juris Doctor in 2006. He completed his legal education at a time when the New Jersey and New York legal markets were shifting, and he entered practice shortly after graduation. His academic background at Seton Hall laid the groundwork for a career that moved quickly from public service into private practice.

He began his legal career in government service. In 2007 he joined the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office as an assistant prosecutor. In that role he handled matters on behalf of the state, gaining courtroom experience and exposure to trial procedures, case preparation, and the demands of public-sector litigation. The prosecutorial post provided regular contact with judges, law enforcement, and courtroom staff, and it shaped the early years of his litigation practice.

By 2011 he was in private practice as a partner at The Law Offices of Joel Silberman, LLC. He has been listed as a partner there since that year. The firm operates from multiple locations, maintaining a main office alongside offices in Newark and New York City. Over time he moved from a government role into leading and managing client matters in the private sector, overseeing cases that require litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy.

His practical experience blends time spent as a prosecutor with the responsibilities of running a law office. That mix informs how he approaches client matters and case management. He has handled litigation tasks that range from briefing to trial preparation, and he has worked inside the court system in New York and neighboring jurisdictions. Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic and oriented toward resolving disputes through the tools available in court and negotiation.

Outside of casework, Silberman maintains professional ties that date back to the start of his legal career. He has been an active member of professional circles since 2007 and continues to engage with peers in the legal community. He splits his time between his firm's offices, meeting clients and attending court as needed.

As a licensed practitioner in New York, Silberman has combined prosecutorial training with private-practice responsibilities. Today he centers his practice on litigation and client representation handled through The Law Offices of Joel Silberman, LLC.
