About Jessica
Jessica Mishali earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in 2003 and completed her J.D. at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2006. She moved into legal work immediately after law school, taking on both teaching and practice roles in the same year. Early steps in her career show a quick immersion in courtroom and academic settings.
Her first post-law school roles included serving as an adjunct professor at Touro College South of Miami and working as an associate at the Immigration Law Center, both in 2006. The following year she joined the Broward County Public Defender’s Office as a public defender. That role placed her on routine criminal dockets and trial calendars, where she handled arraignments, pretrial work and trials for a diverse criminal caseload.
In 2013 she moved to the Office of Civil and Criminal Regional Counsel as a major crimes lawyer. There she handled more serious felony matters and worked on cases that required extended investigation and litigation. The position exposed her to elevated courtroom responsibilities, including preparation for complex hearings and coordination with investigative teams.
In 2016 Mishali opened The Law Office of Jessica Mishali, P.A. She shifted from public service to private practice, carrying over criminal defense experience into her own firm. Since founding the office she has represented clients in state and federal matters. Her admissions include the Florida bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Those admissions allow her to handle cases that begin in state court and proceed to federal filings when necessary.
Mishali holds active memberships in The Florida Bar and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those affiliations align with her courtroom work and with continuing legal education typical for trial attorneys. Her background reflects a steady progression from associate and adjunct roles to public defense and then to regional counsel before establishing her own practice.
