About Jeana
Jeana McMurray earned her law degree from Regent University School of Law in 2012 after completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of California, San Diego in 2009. Her legal training included internships in 2011 at the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission and at the Freedom Firm, experiences that exposed her to courtroom procedure and client advocacy early in her career.
She began practicing law in 2012 at Heath J. Thompson, P.C., taking on responsibilities typical for early-career attorneys such as client counseling, drafting pleadings and appearing in court. In 2017 she joined Brock and Scott, PLLC, where she handled matters assigned to the firm and worked within a docketed practice environment. Since 2019 she has been listed as a lawyer at Hanger Law, where she continues to represent clients and manage casework.
McMurray is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court, a credential she received in 2012. She is also licensed to practice in Maryland. Her professional memberships reflect a range of interests. She has belonged to the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division since 2015 and to the American Land Title Association since 2017. Her membership in the Maryland State Bar Association dates to 2018. Those affiliations place her in both state and national professional networks and offer access to continuing education and peer resources.
Her career path shows steady movement through private-practice roles and professional organizations. Early public-defense internships gave her exposure to courtroom dynamics and client-centered representation. Subsequent positions at private firms added experience in managing case files, handling transactional documents and conducting hearings. Colleagues describe her as steady in the courtroom and attentive to procedural detail.
She remains based at Hanger Law and is licensed in both Maryland and Virginia. Her practice draws on experience gained across internships and firm positions and involves matters tied to property and title practice as reflected by her association with the American Land Title Association. She handles client representation and case management as part of her current practice focus.
