About Jay
Jay Hsu earned his law degree from the University of Colorado Denver in 2004. He entered the legal field shortly after, building a career that has moved between private practice, international work and public-interest internships. Early training in firms and nonprofit settings shaped his practical approach to client matters.
His professional timeline begins with summer and early internships. In 2005 he served as a legal intern at Chang & Associates. He returned to public-interest work in 2007 as a legal intern for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network. That experience exposed him to immigration issues and advocacy work at a grassroots level.
Hsu moved into roles with broader jurisdictional exposure in 2008 when he worked as a foreign lawyer and foreign legal consultant at Lin & Chang International Law Offices. The following year he held a lawyer role at FLG Law Office. By 2011 he was listed as a lawyer at Parkes Law Group, LLC. These positions reflect a practice that has included both domestic and cross-border matters.
He is admitted to practice in Colorado and the District of Columbia. Hsu also holds admission to the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He maintains current memberships in the District of Columbia Bar and both the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.
Hsu participates in broader professional groups as well. He is a current member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers. He also serves as a pro bono affiliate with the Pacific Justice Institute. Those roles suggest involvement in both consumer bankruptcy and civil litigation communities, and they provide additional professional development and referral networks.
Colleagues describe Hsu as methodical in courtroom preparation and deliberate in client counseling. His work history includes placements in small firms and international offices, and that variety has influenced how he balances transactional work with litigation tasks.
He currently practices at Parkes Law Group, LLC and accepts matters arising in Colorado and the District of Columbia. His practice includes bankruptcy-related work and federal-court matters in the District of Colorado.
