About Jason T.
Jason T. Brown built his legal foundation at Rutgers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science in 1993 at Rutgers University–New Brunswick/Piscataway. He continued at Rutgers University–Camden and received his Juris Doctor in 1996. Those years shaped his interest in the intersection of law, policy and investigation.
Soon after law school he joined federal service. In 1998 he served as a Special Agent and Legal Advisor at the Department of Justice, assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. That role combined investigative work and legal counsel. He spent time on matters that required both prosecutorial judgment and investigative coordination.
After his time in government he moved into private practice. He became licensed to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including New York, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania. His admissions allow him to handle multi-jurisdictional matters and coordinate legal strategies across state and federal lines.
In 2013 he was named a senior partner at Brown, LLC. In that capacity he has overseen litigation teams and advised clients on complex legal problems. His background in federal investigations informs how he evaluates evidence, prepares witnesses and advises on regulatory exposure. He has experience managing cases that progress from early investigatory stages to courtroom litigation.
Colleagues describe his courtroom manner as direct and unadorned. He favors careful preparation and fact-based arguments. He also spends significant time on case planning and parallel investigations — ensuring that legal positions align with investigatory findings. He draws on his earlier public service to help clients assess risk and make practical decisions about litigation and settlement options.
Outside of specific cases, he has worked on procedural and strategic matters that touch on both criminal and civil practice. He approaches each matter methodically, parsing statutory and evidentiary issues and mapping them back to client priorities. He balances an ability to operate in both investigative settings and adversarial court proceedings.
He currently practices at Brown, LLC and handles matters that involve government investigations, regulatory questions and civil litigation.
