About Jason J.
Jason J. Heinen built his legal foundation in the Midwest. He studied history and political science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning a B.A. in 2008. He went on to receive his J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in 2011.
After law school he began practicing in Wisconsin. His early work included a position at Aul Law, LLC in 2011. He later spent time at the J. Peterman Legal Group, Ltd., joining that firm in 2015. In 2016 he moved to the Law Offices of Mark S. Knutson, where he joined the firm’s team and has continued his practice since.
Heinen holds a state certification outside the traditional legal track as well: he is a certified Emergency Medical Technician - Basic through the Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services. That credential is an uncommon addition for an attorney and suggests an interest in emergency response and public-service training. He is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and has maintained his practice in the state across multiple roles.
Colleagues and clients describe him as pragmatic and straightforward in handling casework. He approaches client matters with an emphasis on clear explanations and practical solutions. He has handled matters across different small-firm settings, gaining courtroom and office experience along the way.
His career shows steady movement through Wisconsin firms rather than a single long tenure. That path gave him exposure to different case types and office structures. It also placed him in roles that required both individual client attention and collaboration with other attorneys.
Today he practices at the Law Offices of Mark S. Knutson in Wisconsin. He continues to represent clients in matters arising under state law and to apply his combined training in law and emergency medical response to his work in the state.
