About Jacqueline L.
Jacqueline L. Messler started in small-town classrooms and worked her way to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She earned a B.A. in history and political science from Carroll College in 2009 and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2012. Those credentials set the stage for a career that has stayed rooted in Wisconsin law and its institutions.
Her first positions after law school were in the courthouse and in private practice. In 2010 she served as a law clerk at Schober Schober Mitchell, gaining exposure to trial practice and firm-based client work. She then clerked for Justice Annette Kingsland Ziegler at the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2012, a role that emphasized research, brief writing, and the cadence of appellate decision-making.
Messler moved into firm practice in 2013 when she joined Weiss Berzowski LLP. That early stint gave her day-to-day experience counseling clients and handling litigation-related tasks. In 2016 she became a lawyer at Davis and Kuelthau, s.c., where her responsibilities broadened to include more complex client matters and courtroom appearances.
The firm landscape shifted again in 2022 when Amundsen Davis LLC merged with Davis & Kuelthau. Messler continued her practice through that transition. The move brought new colleagues and a larger platform while she maintained the professional rhythms developed over a decade of practice in Wisconsin.
Outside the office, she maintains professional ties through the State Bar of Wisconsin and has been a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association since 2013. Those memberships reflect ongoing engagement with the legal community and with continuing legal education that keeps practitioners current on changes in law and procedure.
Her résumé shows steady progression from clerkships into firm practice, and through mergers that reshaped her employer’s structure. She has handled legal research, drafted appellate and trial briefs, and represented clients in firm settings across the region. Messler now practices at Davis & Kuelthau, serving clients across Wisconsin and working on matters that arise in state courts and administrative proceedings.
