About Jason E.
Jason E. Neufeld trained first as a social scientist and then as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in psychology from Emory University in 2002. He went on to complete a combined JD/MBA program at the University of Miami School of Law in 2007, studying both law and management.
His early career moved quickly into in-house work. In 2007 he served as corporate counsel at Seven Kings Holdings. A few years later he shifted back into private practice. By 2010 he was practicing personal injury law at Neufeld, Kleinberg & Pinkiert, PA, handling civil litigation and client representation in injury matters.
Over time his practice emphasis changed toward elder law and planning for long-term care. In 2019 he began working at Elder Needs Law, PLLC in its Medicaid planning and estate planning practice. That move reflected both a substantive change and a narrower client population: older adults and families facing the financial and legal consequences of aging and disability.
Neufeld has maintained an active presence in bar and professional organizations related to elder law. He is a current member of the Florida State Bar and participates in the bar’s Elder Law Section and its Medicaid Planning Committee. He holds membership in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and has been involved with the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys since 2016, serving on its board of directors beginning in 2021 and joining the executive committee as treasurer in 2024. He is also listed as a member of the Florida Justice Association and the North Dade and Broward County bar associations.
His community involvement extends beyond professional groups. Neufeld has served on the board of the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce since 2011. He has participated on the Miami-Dade Mayor’s Initiative on Aging committee since 2019. Earlier civic roles include board service with local nonprofit and civic organizations such as 2-1-1 Broward and the Broward Coalition on Aging.
The arc of his work runs from corporate counsel and personal injury litigation to counseling older adults on Medicaid eligibility, asset protection and estate planning. He draws on both his legal training and his management studies in advising clients and coordinating with care professionals. He practices law in Florida and currently works through Elder Needs Law, PLLC. He focuses on Medicaid planning and elder law at Elder Needs Law, PLLC.
