About Jared

Jared Martens earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, completing the J.D. program in 2001 after beginning studies in 1998. Before law school he attended Boise State University from 1994 to 1997. Those years shaped his approach to legal work: methodical, detail-oriented and anchored in the basics of research and analysis.

Martens was admitted to the Idaho bar in 2001 and to the Colorado bar in 2002. He has maintained active membership in both state bars since those admissions. Over the course of his career he has worked on matters that cross state lines, applying the procedural and substantive rules that differ between Idaho and Colorado. His dual admission allows him to assist clients who face legal questions that touch both jurisdictions.

Outside his bar memberships, Martens holds an FAA pilot certification. The certification is a distinctive credential among lawyers and reflects a regulated, safety-minded discipline that he brings to his legal practice. He has combined that background with steady courtroom and transactional experience earned over more than two decades of practice.

Colleagues describe Martens as pragmatic in his approach. He favors clear analysis and straightforward explanations over legalese. In day-to-day practice he has handled filings, hearings and negotiations, balancing attention to procedural detail with a practical sense of case objectives. He has also navigated the administrative side of law practice, maintaining compliance with continuing legal education and bar requirements in two states.

Martens’ office locations have supported work across both Colorado and Idaho. He has represented individuals and organizations on matters governed by those states’ laws, and he has worked with clients who require counsel capable of moving between jurisdictions. He keeps current on changes in state law and procedure so that his advice reflects the contemporary rules that affect clients’ rights and obligations.

After more than twenty years licensed to practice, Martens continues to serve clients in Colorado and Idaho and remains active in the professional communities of both states. His current practice focuses on handling legal matters that arise under Colorado and Idaho law.
