About Alyssa Renee

Alyssa Renee Jones built a steady course from the classroom to the courthouse. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education at Boise State University in 2015, then earned a Master of Education from Northwest Nazarene College in 2016. After several years away from formal study, she returned to law school and received her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2023.

Her legal experience began during law school. In 2022 she served as an extern in the U.S. District Court office in Idaho. That placement gave her early exposure to federal practice and courtroom procedures. She joined Breen, Ball, and Marelius as an associate in 2023, working on matters for clients across the state and deepening her trial and litigation experience.

A year later she made a swift move into firm leadership. In 2024 she became a law partner at Trout Law. Colleagues describe her trajectory as rapid but grounded in hands-on work. The shift from associate to partner came after a period in which she handled client matters, drafted pleadings, and appeared in state and federal hearings.

Jones’s background in education shapes the way she approaches legal problems. Her undergraduate and graduate training in secondary education inform how she explains legal issues to clients and organizes case materials. That earlier career path also contributes to a methodical approach in the courtroom and during negotiations.

She is licensed in Idaho and has built practice experience there since leaving law school. Her time as an extern and as an associate exposed her to both federal and state procedures, and it helped her develop routines for case preparation and trial readiness. Peers note her steadiness under pressure and her preference for clear, direct advocacy.

Outside formal roles she has maintained ties to the legal community through memberships in professional organizations. She continues to live and practice in Idaho, bringing a combination of recent federal experience and local courtroom knowledge to her work. She practices at Trout Law, representing clients in matters before Idaho courts.
