About Jacob W
Jacob W Pillsbury earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. He returned to Florida to build a career that has moved between public defense, private practice and civil litigation. Those years of study set the groundwork for courtroom work and client representation across the state.
He began his legal career in 2012 as an associate at Dolman Law Group. A year later he joined the Office of the Public Defender in Florida’s 13th Judicial Circuit. That role put him in direct contact with clients facing criminal charges and offered regular courtroom exposure. In 2015 he moved to the Office of the Public Defender for the 6th Judicial Circuit, continuing public defense work and handling a range of criminal matters.
In 2017 Pillsbury shifted back into private practice as an associate focused on criminal defense at Denmon Pearlman. He spent those years representing clients in criminal cases and working on case preparation, hearings and trial strategies. In 2020 he took a position as a litigation associate handling civil defense matters at Kubicki Draper. That role broadened his experience to include civil litigation, defense-oriented discovery and motion practice in addition to courtroom appearances.
In 2021 he founded Guardline Law and became its managing lawyer. As founder he oversees the firm’s daily operations and manages client matters. The move created an opportunity to combine his public defense background with civil litigation experience. The firm’s work reflects the mix of matters he handled earlier in his career.
Across his roles Pillsbury has balanced public service and private practice. He has represented individuals in criminal courts and defended civil claims for clients in state forums. His experience covers trial preparation, hearings and litigation strategy. He is licensed to practice in Florida and remains based in the state. He currently leads Guardline Law and concentrates on criminal defense and civil litigation in Florida.
