About Hunter

Hunter Hanger completed his undergraduate degree at James Madison University in 2005 before returning to Virginia to pursue graduate and legal studies. He earned a Master of Arts from Regent University in 2010 and finished law school at Regent University School of Law with a J.D. in 2011. That sequence set up a quick transition from student to practitioner in the same region where he had studied.

After law school he established Hanger Law in 2011. He has maintained the firm since then and expanded its presence across the Hampton Roads area. The firm operates multiple offices, including locations serving Newport News and the Chesapeake region, and continues to handle matters for local clients and businesses.

Hanger’s professional affiliations reflect steady involvement in the Virginia legal and civic communities. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 2011. Since 2018 he has served as a continuing education instructor for the Virginia Department of Real Estate. He also holds leadership and advisory roles in local organizations: he sits on the board of directors for Virginia Beach Fellows and is a director of Virginia Beach Vision, both appointments beginning in 2018. His participation on the Virginia Beach Housing Advisory Committee dates to 2017, signaling an interest in housing policy and local development issues.

Those roles shape the practical focus of his work. Teaching continuing education courses for real estate professionals gives him regular exposure to licensing rules, disclosure obligations and transaction mechanics. Time on the housing advisory committee and on local nonprofit boards brings him into dialogue with planners, developers and municipal officials. He handles matters that arise at the intersection of property, development and regulatory compliance in Virginia.

Hanger practices law under the Hanger Law name and remains active in Virginia bar membership. He operates out of multiple offices in the region and balances direct client work with community and educational responsibilities. His current practice concentrates on real estate and housing matters in Virginia.
