About Heidi Buck

Heidi Buck Morrison earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law in 2009 after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Montana in 2004. She entered the legal field after an early career stop in media relations, a role that gave her an early taste of public-facing work and complex communications. Those formative experiences sit behind a methodical approach to legal practice.

Her career path moved quickly from communications into law. In 2008 she joined Routh Crabtree Olsen as a lawyer, taking on matters that exposed her to courtroom work and client counseling. In 2015 she became senior counsel at Northwest Trustee Services, Inc., where she worked inside a firm that handles the intersection of lending, title and enforcement issues. A year later she took a partnership at Racine Olson. The sequence of roles shows a steady progression from firm associate to in-house counsel and then to firm leadership.

Morrison is admitted to practice in both Idaho and Washington. She also holds federal admissions, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, and the Ninth Circuit. Her federal court admissions extend to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Idaho and the bankruptcy courts serving the Western and Eastern districts. That range of admissions reflects regular work in both district and bankruptcy forums.

Her time at Northwest Trustee Services in particular provided direct exposure to creditor-side processes, title issues and proceedings that often intersect with bankruptcy practice. Across firm and in-house positions she has handled matters that require coordinating litigation strategy, statutory compliance and client communications. She brings practice experience on matters that move between state and federal systems, and she is familiar with procedural and substantive demands in bankruptcy and district court contexts.

Outside casework she maintains membership in professional associations. She is a member of the American Bar Association as well as the Idaho and Washington state bar associations. Those affiliations keep her connected to changing standards in procedure and to peers in neighboring jurisdictions.

Since joining Racine Olson as a partner in 2016 she has worked on matters that draw on her courtroom admissions and prior in-house experience. She currently maintains an active practice that encompasses federal and state litigation and bankruptcy-related matters.
