About Heather
Heather Shaw earned her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. She completed the program there and entered the practice of law after graduation. Her legal education provided training in litigation, client counseling and transactional work, forming the base of a practice she would later build in South Carolina.
After law school, Shaw established herself in South Carolina. She is admitted to practice in that jurisdiction and has handled matters in state courts and administrative forums. Early in her career she combined courtroom work with advising clients on daily legal needs. That mix shaped the kind of small-firm practice she now runs.
Shaw’s work covers a range of matters for both individuals and businesses. She represents clients in disputes that arise in state court and appears in administrative proceedings when matters require it. Her practice includes advising on legal risk, preparing pleadings, negotiating settlements and guiding clients through litigation timelines. She draws on courtroom experience and practical problem-solving when advising clients.
In private practice she is the principal of Shaw Law Office, LLC. At the firm she manages casework, client intake and the business side of running a legal office. Colleagues describe her approach as straightforward. She favors clear explanations and practical options over dense legal theory. That approach helps clients understand what lies ahead and decide how they want to proceed.
Outside of courtroom appearances, Shaw continues to update her practice through continuing legal education and peer engagement. She attends programs on procedural developments and changes in state law that may affect her clients. Her practice remains local in scope and responsive to the needs that bring people and businesses to a small law office.
She practices at Shaw Law Office, LLC and represents clients across South Carolina, focusing her current practice on civil matters in state court and administrative proceedings.
