About Gunner
Gunner Pak began his legal path at the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2001. He completed his law degree at Stetson University College of Law in 2006. Those formative years set the stage for a steady, largely courtroom-centered career in Georgia.
Fresh out of law school he entered public service. In 2006 he served as an assistant district lawyer for the South Georgia Judicial Circuit. The following year he moved to Dekalb County where he continued as an assistant district lawyer. Those early roles placed him on the front lines of state prosecutions and gave him daily experience with charged cases, courtroom procedure and case preparation.
In 2009 Pak transitioned to private practice as an attorney with the Sperling Law Group. That move widened the scope of his work. He shifted from a government role into a firm setting, taking on client representation and case management in Georgia courts. Four years later he co-founded Pak and McRae Law, LLC and became a partner. As a partner he managed files, collaborated on litigation strategy, and handled courtroom appearances.
In 2021 he joined The Maloof Firm as a partner. The change aligned him with a larger practice platform while keeping him in active litigation. Across public and private posts he has worked on matters that required trial preparation, legal research, and negotiations. His time in both prosecution and private practice gives him a dual perspective on how cases develop and resolve in state court.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and straightforward in court. He has navigated arraignments, hearings and trials, and he brings that procedural familiarity into each case he takes. He has also worked on the administrative side of practice, supervising junior lawyers and coordinating with investigators and expert witnesses when cases require it.
Pak maintains his practice in Georgia and continues to appear in state courts. He balances litigation duties with managing partner-level responsibilities at his firm. Currently he is a partner at The Maloof Firm and concentrates his practice on litigation in Georgia state courts.
