About Gina M.
Gina M. Girardot built her legal foundation at John Carroll University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, and then at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she completed her J.D. Those schools shaped the early arc of a career that has alternated between public service and private practice.
She began practice in Florida in the early 2000s as an Assistant State Lawyer in the Miami-Dade State Lawyer's Office. That courtroom work introduced her to the rhythms of trial practice and public prosecution. In 2005 she moved to private practice as a lawyer with Tucker Ellis & West LLP, joining a larger firm environment and expanding her litigation portfolio.
In 2008 she returned to government service as an Assistant Lawyer General at the Florida Office of the Lawyer General. The position broadened her exposure to state-level legal work and regulatory matters. Several years later she launched her own firm, Gina M. Girardot, P.A., in 2012. That step shifted her daily responsibilities from firm associate to firm owner and managing attorney.
Since 2014 she has served as Of Counsel at Whittel & Melton, LLC. That role has allowed her to combine independent practice experience with affiliation to an established firm. Her career path shows repeated transitions between public and private roles, each informing the other.
She is admitted to practice in Ohio and Florida, and she is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She remains a current member of the Florida Bar. Those credentials support work in both state and federal courts.
Colleagues describe her as someone who moves comfortably between courtroom and counsel table. Her background in state prosecution, a state legal office, private firms and her own practice gives her familiarity with litigation strategy and case management across multiple settings.
Her years running a solo practice gave her experience in client counseling and case oversight. Working at larger firms and in state offices added layers of procedural and appellate experience. The combination yields a practical, process-oriented approach to legal work.
She practices through her association with Whittel & Melton, LLC, where she serves as Of Counsel and handles state and federal litigation as well as regulatory and counseling matters.
