About Frederick
Frederick Schroeder practices family law at Phillips Traylor Myers Goodin & Schroeder LLP in Bend, Oregon. He joined the firm as a partner in 2024, bringing over a decade of experience in family law, estate planning, and probate matters. The firm, located in the heart of Bend, serves clients throughout Central Oregon, focusing on family-related legal issues such as divorce, child custody, and property division. He earned his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2007, where he developed a strong foundation in family law and related areas. His undergraduate degree — a B.A.
in Geology and History — was obtained from Colgate University in 1995. During law school, he worked as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert Herndon in 2008, which provided him with insights into the judicial decision-making process. Most of his caseload involves complex family law cases, including high-asset divorces and custody disputes. He also assists clients with estate planning, helping them navigate wills, trusts, and probate proceedings. Cases typically progress from initial consultations through negotiations and, when necessary, litigation in court. His understanding of both family law and estate planning allows him to provide comprehensive legal services to his clients.
Before becoming a partner, he served as a shareholder at the firm starting in 2019 and as an associate beginning in 2010. His earlier experience includes a role as a law clerk in the Civil Enforcement Division in 2005, where he gained experience in regulatory matters. This diverse background gave him a unique perspective on the legal challenges his clients face. Frederick is an active member of several legal associations, including the Central Oregon Estate Planning Council and the Central Oregon Matrimonial Lawyers Association. He also participates in the Jefferson/Crook County Bar Association and the Deschutes County Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to the legal community and informed about developments in family law and estate planning.
Outside of his legal practice, Frederick enjoys outdoor activities in the beautiful landscapes of Central Oregon. He is committed to providing his clients with the highest level of service and support during difficult periods. His dedication to family law and estate planning reflects his belief in helping families secure their futures and navigate complex legal issues.
