About Lauren

Lauren Nowierski-Stadnick came to law by way of chemical engineering. She earned a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006, then turned to legal studies at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2009. The technical training she received at MIT remains a through-line in her work and in how she approaches complex factual problems.

While in law school she spent a summer at Sughrue Mion PLLC in 2007 and served as a full-time student law clerk in 2008 to the Honorable Jack B. Weinstein of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Those early experiences placed her in both front-line law firm settings and in a federal courtroom. The mix of practical firm work and time inside the judiciary shaped her view of litigation practice.

After law school she joined Goodwin Procter as an associate in 2010. She moved to Desmarais LLP in 2012, continuing in associate roles that involved courtroom work and client counseling. Over the years she handled matters that required attention to procedural detail and factual complexity, bringing both analytical discipline and courtroom experience to her matters.

In 2021 she became a partner at Stadnick Nowierski-Stadnick LLP. At the firm she shares responsibility for trial preparation, client advice and managing litigation teams. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing cases and attentive to the intersections of technical evidence and legal argument.

Nowierski-Stadnick is admitted in New York and New Jersey, in Oregon and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She has kept pro bono and bar work part of her calendar. She served as a pro bono lawyer for Her Justice from 2016 to 2018 and took part in the New York State Bar Association’s COVID-19 Pro Bono Network in 2020. Earlier memberships include the New York Intellectual Property Law Association from 2011 to 2018 and participation in Human Rights First’s Refugee Protection Program from 2011 to 2012. Since 2023 she has served as secretary of the board of Cascade Womens Lawyers.

Her background in engineering, a federal clerkship and years in firm litigation inform the way she approaches disputes. She maintains a practice that centers on civil litigation and intellectual property matters.
