About Erin D.
Erin D. Brooks moved from social work into law over the course of a decade-long academic journey. She earned a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College in 2012, completed a Master of Social Work at New York University in 2014, and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2020. The sequence of degrees maps a path from community-based practice to courtroom work.
Her early years in social work shaped how she approaches client problems. Training at NYU emphasized assessment, systems-level thinking and client advocacy. Those skills carried into law school, where she combined legal research and advocacy training with an interest in cases that touch on real people's lives.
After graduating from law school in 2020, Brooks joined Silverman Thompson as a lawyer. She is licensed to practice in Maryland and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
