About Megan
Megan Weaver joined Silverman Thompson after finishing law school and quickly took on the steady stream of tasks that define the life of a litigation associate. She earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2023 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Criminology at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017. Those years of study provided a foundation in legal research and the contours of the criminal justice system.
Her time at the University of Baltimore School of Law overlapped an intense period of practical training for many young attorneys. Weaver completed the coursework required for the degree in 2023 and entered practice at a moment when courts and clients expected clear legal writing and careful, evidence-based argument. Colleagues describe her as methodical in legal research and precise in drafting, two skills she began sharpening during law school.
At Silverman Thompson she serves as an associate. Her day-to-day work includes preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, drafting briefs and motions, and assisting in trial preparation. She also communicates directly with clients, helping translate technical legal issues into plain language that nonlawyers can use when making decisions about their cases. The firm environment has provided frequent opportunities to refine courtroom technique and to collaborate on complex litigation strategies.
Weaver’s undergraduate background in criminal justice and criminology shapes the way she approaches fact patterns. It gave her an early grounding in investigative methods, evidence evaluation and the institutional dimensions of the law. Those perspectives inform her analytical approach when reviewing case files, interviewing witnesses and building timelines for litigation. She applies empirical attention to detail while maintaining the broader narrative that a judge or jury needs to see.
Outside the office she continues to follow developments in trial practice and procedural law. She reads court opinions closely and spends time on continuing legal education to stay current on changes that affect litigation practice. Younger lawyers at her firm rely on her steady work ethic and her willingness to take on complex research assignments.
She currently practices at Silverman Thompson, where her work is focused on litigation and client counseling.
