About Eric
Eric Schade moved from finance into law over the course of a decade. He completed a B.A. in Finance and Banking at Buena Vista University in 2002, then went on to earn his J.D. from Drake University in 2015. The combination of business training and legal education shaped the early contours of his career.
He began working in the legal field in 2012 at McCormick and Associates P.C., where he held roles that combined paralegal work and lawyer responsibilities. That early experience gave him exposure to case preparation, client intake and the procedural side of practice. It also put him on a path toward full-time practice after law school.
After earning his law degree, Schade joined McEnroe, Gotsdiner, Brewer, Steinbach & Rothman P.C. as an associate lawyer in 2017. The position was followed by a year at Witherwax Law, P.C. in 2018, where he continued in an associate capacity. In 2019 he took a position at Hupy and Abraham, S.C., P.C., where he remains on staff. Each step brought new responsibilities and deeper involvement in the daily work of a practicing attorney.
Schade maintains ties to the local legal community. He holds membership in the Polk County Bar Association and participates as a member in other professional circles. Those memberships reflect a routine engagement with colleagues and local bar activities rather than public leadership roles.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to case work and attentive to the administrative demands of law practice. His background in finance and banking informs how he reviews documents and evaluates factual records. He has handled tasks across litigation support, client communications and legal drafting during his time at multiple firms. He has built experience across different office environments and types of legal work by moving from paralegal duties into associate-level responsibilities.
Schade is licensed to practice in Iowa and works out of the Hupy and Abraham, S.C., P.C. office. He balances the procedural side of case management with client-facing duties and remains active in local bar activities. He currently practices at Hupy and Abraham, S.C., P.C., handling matters in Iowa.
