About Benjamin C.
Benjamin C. Feld built his legal foundation at Drake University and Michigan State University. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Drake in 2010. He then completed a J.D. at Michigan State University in 2014. Those years of study put him on a steady path into courtroom work and regulatory practice.
Early in his career Feld worked inside government. In 2012 he served in the Consumer Protection Division of the Michigan Lawyer General. That role exposed him to enforcement work and to the mechanics of consumer statutes. The next year he gained experience in private practice as a law clerk at Sinas Dramis. Those placements gave him a mix of public- and private-sector perspectives before he moved into criminal defense.
In 2014 Feld opened his own practice and began trying criminal matters. He has handled cases across stages of criminal proceedings, from initial arraignment through trial. He is admitted to practice in Iowa and maintains professional memberships that reflect his practice interests. He joined the Iowa Association for Justice in 2016 and became a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2018. He also holds membership in the Iowa State Bar.
Clients and colleagues describe his work as methodical rather than flashy. He prepares filings, researches motions, and crafts defenses aimed at the facts and the law. He spends time in court and in negotiation rooms. His background in consumer protection occasionally informs how he approaches cases that touch on regulatory or statutory questions, but his day-to-day work centers on criminal matters.
Feld runs Feld Law Office, where he manages intake and case strategy. The office handles a range of criminal matters. He accepts cases that require hearings, plea negotiation, or trial advocacy, and he represents individuals at various stages of the criminal process.
Outside of courtroom hours Feld’s professional associations provide continuing education and a network of peers. He has remained active in those groups since joining. That engagement keeps him connected to developments in criminal law and procedure.
Today he practices in Iowa and operates Feld Law Office. His current practice concentrates on criminal defense and related representation in state courts.
