About Emily

Emily Almanza completed her undergraduate studies at Campbell University in 2016, earning a B.A. in political science and history. She remained in the Campbell system for law school and received her J.D. from Campbell Law School in 2023. Those years of study gave her a grounding in legal research and the history of public institutions.

During law school she combined courtroom exposure with public service. In 2022 she served as an intern for Chief Judge Donna Stroud at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, where she assisted with research and prepared memoranda on appellate issues. The same year she worked with the Blanchard Community Law Clinic, taking part in client interviews and case preparation. She also spent time as a Health Services Section extern at the North Carolina Department of Justice, gaining experience in the intersection of law and public health policy.

Those placements offered different perspectives on the practice of law. The appellate internship emphasized close analysis of legal arguments and opinion drafting. Clinic work required client-facing communication and practical problem solving. The DOJ externship exposed her to how state agencies address legal questions tied to health services. Taken together, the experiences broadened her understanding of how law operates at multiple levels of government and in the community.

After earning her degree, she joined King Law Offices as a lawyer in 2023. At King Law Offices she moved into client representation and courtroom work. Colleagues describe her as methodical in research and careful in preparing filings. Her background in appellate work has informed how she frames legal issues for trial courts and tribunal settings.

Her legal toolkit includes research and writing skills sharpened on the Court of Appeals, and practical case-handling learned in clinic settings. She has worked on matters that required coordinating with administrative agencies and understanding regulatory frameworks. Those practical experiences help her translate complex legal concepts into clear explanations for clients.

Almanza approaches each matter with attention to detail. She prepares written analysis, supports pleadings with focused research, and maintains direct lines of communication with clients. Her training in political science and history continues to inform how she places legal questions in broader institutional and historical context.

She now practices at King Law Offices, representing clients in matters in North Carolina.
