About Elizabeth M.
Elizabeth M. Fink built a legal path that started in the liberal arts and led to elder law. She earned a B.A. from Denison University in 2005 and spent part of that undergraduate study at Justus Liebig University Giessen in 2004. She went on to law school at The John Marshall Law School, completing her J.D. in 2009.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois and began handling matters that affect older adults and their families. Over the years she has worked on estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianship matters and long-term care planning. Those case types form the core of her day-to-day work.
Her professional affiliations reflect those interests. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and serves on its Probate Practice Committee, the Elder Law Committee and the Trust Law Committee. She belongs to the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and sits on the Board of the Illinois Chapter, where she is Education Committee Co-Chair. She also participates in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Elder Law Short Course Planning Committee.
Fink is active in local organizations as well. She holds membership in the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and the Skokie Chamber of Commerce. Those memberships inform both her practice and her public-facing work, especially around legal education for families and for other lawyers.
She practices at WhiteheadFink Elder Law, LLC. Her work there includes drafting wills and trusts, guiding families through probate and trust administration, advising on guardianships and conservatorships, and handling Medicaid planning for long-term care. She also speaks at continuing legal education programs and helps develop materials for practitioners in elder law.
Clients encounter an attorney who combines courtroom familiarity with an interest in practical problem solving. Her calendar often includes a mix of client consultations, document drafting and collaborative meetings with financial advisers and care providers. She continues to engage in committee work and legal education while maintaining a practice that centers on elder law, estate planning, probate and trust administration.
