About Dwayne
Dwayne Brown built his legal foundation in Alabama. He earned a B.A. from Oakwood College in 1990 and graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1994. Those years set the stage for a career that moved quickly from associate work to an independent practice.
He began his career in 1994 at Chestnut, Sanders, Sanders & Pettaway, P.C., where he handled litigation matters and gained courtroom experience. Four years later he opened his own practice. Since 1998 he has operated the Law Offices of Dwayne L. Brown, P.C., representing individuals in trials across state and federal courts.
Brown is admitted in Alabama and Georgia and appears before the Eleventh Circuit. He is authorized to litigate in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, and he practices in the Superior and State Courts of Georgia. That range of admissions allows him to take cases in several judicial forums and to move matters between state and federal venues when necessary.
His work centers on criminal defense and personal injury. He represents clients at trial and in pretrial proceedings, handling matters that require courtroom advocacy and negotiation. He has been involved in cases that span a variety of claims, and he prepares cases for trial in both criminal and civil dockets.
Brown maintains professional memberships that reflect those practice areas. He is a current member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Association for Justice, the Alabama State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. He also holds membership in the American Bar Association, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the National Academy of Personal Injury Lawyers and organizations that recognize significant verdicts and settlements, including America's Top 100 Personal Injury Lawyers, the American Academy of Lawyer 100 Million Dollar Club and The National Top 100 Black Lawyers. His profile is listed in Martindale-Hubbell peer ratings and client reviews.
He works from offices in Montgomery, Alabama, and Atlanta, Georgia. The practice is built around litigation—preparation for trial, courtroom advocacy and settlement negotiations. He currently represents clients in criminal defense and personal injury matters in state and federal courts.
