About Dorothy Sarah

Dorothy Sarah Young earned her B.A. in political science from the University of Georgia in 2015. She continued her legal education at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2018. Her academic record reflects an early interest in the intersections of politics and law. She entered the legal profession at a time when practical courtroom experience matters as much as classroom study.

Her first professional post came in 2018 as a staff lawyer for the Bibb County Circuit Superior Court. That role introduced her to court procedures and the demands of case management at the trial level. In 2019 she moved into public service as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Towaliga Circuit District Lawyer’s Office in Monroe County. She spent that year handling matters on behalf of the state and gained hands-on prosecutorial experience.

Young then shifted to private practice. In 2020 she joined James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP as an associate lawyer. She spent time on civil litigation matters and learned the practicalities of representing private clients and insurers. In 2022 she worked as an associate trial lawyer for Farmers Insurance in an in-house capacity with the Law Offices of Assunta S. Fiorini, where she was involved in defense and coverage matters. The next year she joined Martin Snow, LLP as an associate lawyer.

Across these roles, Young has repeatedly worked in litigation settings. She has experience in courtroom procedures from the perspective of the bench, from the prosecutor’s office and from defense and insurance practice. That mix informs how she approaches cases: attentive to deadlines and evidence, attuned to procedural strategy, and familiar with the expectations of judges and opposing counsel. Her work has involved trial preparation, motion practice and client counseling in contentious matters.

Young is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has held that membership since 2019. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and has built a practice that spans civil litigation and insurance-related defense work, while retaining experience in criminal prosecution from her time with the district office. Colleagues describe her as practical and thorough in case preparation, and she continues to handle matters that require courtroom readiness and negotiation.

She currently practices at Martin Snow, LLP, handling civil litigation, insurance defense and criminal matters in Georgia.
