About Lauren
Lauren Deal built a path to law that began in the classroom. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1999 and returned to Georgia for her legal studies, earning a J.D. from the University of Georgia in 2006. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia the same year and has maintained active membership since.
Her early professional life included a year teaching at Jefferson County High School in 2000. That chapter preceded a move into the legal field. In 2006 she worked as a law clerk for Judge John Lee Parrott in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. The clerkship gave her a close view of courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making.
In 2007 she joined the Monroe County District Lawyer's Office as an assistant district lawyer. That role placed her on the prosecutorial side of criminal matters. She was affiliated with the Prosecuting Lawyers Council of Georgia from 2007 until 2015, a period during which she handled the demands of trial preparation and courtroom work.
In 2015 she shifted to private practice and established Deal Law Office, LLC. Around the same time she broadened her professional affiliations. She has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Family Law Section since 2016, and she also joined the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers that year. Those memberships reflect the mix of family and criminal law that defines much of her practice today.
Her background spans clerkship, prosecution and private practice. That combination means she has seen cases from several vantage points. She has experience managing case files, preparing motions and representing clients at hearings. Colleagues note her familiarity with courtroom procedure and Georgia practice rules, and clients look to her for practical guidance through complex proceedings.
She continues to operate from Deal Law Office, LLC, handling matters that include criminal defense and family law. Her practice remains rooted in Georgia courts and in the professional associations she joined early in her career.
