About Denise

Denise Erlich built a path from computer science and accounting to law. She earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986, an MBA in finance from DePaul University in 1995, and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, in 1999 where she studied litigation and dispute resolution. That combination of technical, business and legal training shapes how she approaches cases.

Her early credentialing includes a mediation certification from the Center for Conflict Resolution in 1999. She later became an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of the 18th Judicial Circuit in DuPage County. In 2014 she was named a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois. Those steps track a steady involvement in alternative dispute resolution methods over many years.

Erlich founded Erlich Law Office, LLC in 2014. The firm serves clients in Illinois and reflects the practical mix of skills she developed in prior decades. She is an active member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Locally she participates in the DuPage County Bar Association and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. She also belongs to the Illinois State Bar Association.

Colleagues describe her practice as centered on dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration and collaborative processes. Her academic background in computer science and accounting has informed work that can involve technical or financial issues. Her law degree emphasized litigation and dispute resolution, and she has combined those elements in a steady practice that favors negotiated and mediated outcomes alongside formal adjudication when necessary.

Clients who seek alternative processes will find a practitioner who has maintained credentials in mediation since the year she earned her law degree. Her arbitration role in DuPage County places her in regular contact with local courts and bench procedures. As a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois she has continued to engage with peers on methods that move matters away from traditional litigation toward negotiated solutions.

She operates from Erlich Law Office, LLC and maintains an active presence in Illinois bar and collaborative law communities. Her current practice centers on dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration and collaborative law, across the state of Illinois.
