About David R.
David R. Chase earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. He returned to the University of Miami years later as an adjunct professor, teaching courses that drew on his time in both private practice and government service. His academic ties to Miami have remained a recurring part of his career.
Fresh out of law school, Chase joined Greenberg Traurig in 1992, entering private practice at a national firm. He moved into public service a few years later, serving as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 1995. That role put him inside securities enforcement and regulatory matters. In 1998 he took on the title of Special Assistant United States Lawyer at the United States Lawyer's Office for the Southern District of Florida, where he handled federal matters at the trial level. He has also practiced with Silver Law Group before establishing his own firm.
Chase has admitted practice in Florida and is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. He remains active in professional organizations, including the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect a career split across public and private roles and a continuing engagement with rulemaking and professional standards.
On the government side, his record shows direct work on securities enforcement at the SEC and prosecution-related assignments at the federal level. In private practice he has applied that experience to litigation and representation that intersect with federal securities and regulatory issues. He has also taught law students, bringing case-based examples from his time in both government and private firms into the classroom.
Today he is the principal of The Law Office of David R. Chase P.A. He manages client matters, supervises litigation and continues guest teaching and association work. He currently concentrates his practice on securities and federal litigation.
