About Peter J
Peter J Guala built his foundation in economics before turning to law. He earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Scranton and then completed his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 2010. While in law school he gained practical experience as a legal intern in 2008 with the Economic Crime Unit of the City of Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. That early exposure to public-sector investigations preceded private practice work that began immediately after graduation.
His career in private practice unfolded steadily. He began as a law clerk in 2010, moved into an associate role in 2011 and rose to senior associate by 2016. In 2017 he took on partner responsibilities and in 2021 became Managing Shareholder at Guala Law Office. He is admitted to practice in Florida and has been a member of The Florida Bar since 2010.
Guala holds two notable professional certifications. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator, an authorization that allows him to serve on court-referred mediation matters. He is also Board Certified in Condominium and Planned Development Law by The Florida Bar, a specialty recognition that reflects concentrated practice in that discipline rather than general practice.
His practice intersects real property, community association law and business matters. Memberships in the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the Business Law Section reflect those ties. Locally he participates in civic and business circles as a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Weston Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The steady combination of dispute resolution training and board certification informs the work he does for condominium associations, homeowners’ associations and developers.
Since assuming the role of Managing Shareholder, he has overseen firm operations while handling transactional and dispute matters tied to condominiums, planned communities and related business issues. His background combines courtroom preparation, mediation credentials and specialized certification in community association law. He currently focuses his practice on condominium and planned development law, real estate transactions and related business matters.
