About David

David Judd entered the legal world straight from the Baton Rouge campus where he studied philosophy as an undergraduate. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Louisiana State University in 2017, then stayed in-state for law school. He earned his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2021.

After law school, Judd moved into private practice and joined Kean Miller LLP as an associate. He built his early practice at a firm known across Louisiana for handling a range of commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters. At Kean Miller he has worked alongside partners and junior colleagues on client matters, research, and drafting that support the firm’s engagements across the state.

Judd is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and practices under Louisiana law. He has taken part in the bar’s activities as a member and maintains an active professional presence in the state’s legal community. His education in philosophy informs how he approaches problems: he tends to break complex issues into smaller questions and examine assumptions before recommending a course of action.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to legal tasks. He spends time on legal research and preparing written work product. That work supports the litigation and transactional teams at Kean Miller, where associates often rotate through different practice groups to gain hands-on experience. Judd’s time in the firm’s associate role has involved drafting motions, preparing discovery, and assisting with contract review and negotiation.

Outside of firm responsibilities, Judd’s background in philosophy has translated into an interest in clear legal writing and argument construction. He has contributed to internal firm memoranda and client advisories that aim to distill legal issues into practical options. He continues to grow his courtroom and transactional experience under the supervision of more senior attorneys at the firm.

Now several years into practice, Judd remains licensed to practice in Louisiana and is based at Kean Miller LLP. He represents and advises the firm’s clients on matters arising under Louisiana law, and his current practice focuses on serving those clients through research, litigation support, and transactional work.
