About David
David Carrera built a legal career that began in Florida classrooms and threaded through courtrooms across the Middle District. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Florida in 2003 and took his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007. Those years set a practical foundation. They also left him comfortable handling both numbers and the finer points of procedure.
Early in his career Carrera worked as a legal intern at Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert, Whigham & Partlow, P.A., and served as a judicial intern in the Family Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida in 2009. He opened his own practice as the Law Office of David M. Carrera, P.A. in 2010 and carried the role of lawyer and shareholder for more than a decade. In 2022 he reorganized his practice under Carrera Law, P.A., where he continues to manage client matters and oversee firm operations.
Carrera is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. That mix of state and federal admissions reflects the kinds of matters his practice encounters: contested filings in federal bankruptcy court, litigation in federal district court and routine work in state forums. He is comfortable in hearings and motion practice, and he has handled cases that required appearances in multiple court settings.
Outside client work he has remained connected to the bar. Carrera joined The Florida Bar in 2010 and has been active through that membership. He also participated in the American Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division during the mid-2010s. Locally, he volunteered with the Orange County Bar Association Legal Aid Society and has taken part in community volunteering including brief service with a local animal rescue.
Carrera maintains an office in Lake Mary and sees clients by appointment. He balances running a small firm with courtroom responsibilities and the administrative demands of practice. His current practice focuses on representing clients in state and federal courts, including bankruptcy matters in the Middle District of Florida.
