About Ruben Yuri
Ruben Yuri Alcoba began his academic path in the sciences. He earned a B.A. in chemistry from Florida International University before turning to the study of law. He later earned a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and holds an LL.M. in International Taxation and Financial Services from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Those credentials set the stage for a career that bridges technical and regulatory issues. Early legal training gave him grounding in traditional practice areas. Further study in international taxation added a layer of specialization that informs his work on cross-border financial matters.
He entered private practice in the late 1990s and became a partner in 1999 at Alcoba & Associates PA. Over the years he added intellectual property qualifications, including registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of The Florida Bar, admitted in 1999, and remains an active member.
Alcoba’s practice reflects his mixed background. He handles patent prosecution and other USPTO matters, drawing on his chemistry undergraduate degree when technical subject matter is involved. His LL.M. in international taxation equips him to advise on tax implications for clients with offshore or cross-border operations. He also pursues technology-related matters; he holds a CBCP certification from the Blockchain Institute of Technology and has taken on blockchain and cryptocurrency transactional work.
Colleagues describe him as practical and precise. He tends to work on matters where technical detail and regulatory compliance intersect. That can mean coordinating patent filings, advising on the tax structure of international transactions, or drafting agreements for token sales and other blockchain projects. He has combined private practice experience and specialized credentials to operate across these areas.
He now practices from offices of Alcoba Law Group PA, where he maintains work in both intellectual property and international tax. He is registered with the USPTO and continues his membership in The Florida Bar. He currently concentrates his practice on intellectual property, patent prosecution, international tax matters and blockchain-related transactional work.
