About Daniel

Daniel Staeven earned a B.S. in Business Management from Johns Hopkins University in 2001 and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Maryland - Baltimore in 2004. His academic background pairs a business undergraduate degree with a professional legal education. That combination shaped his approach to problem solving and informed his transition into private practice.

After law school Staeven moved into the practice of law in the Mid-Atlantic. Over time he gained experience across matters that arise under the laws of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. He built a practice that reflects the overlapping regulatory and statutory regimes of those three jurisdictions. His work required learning how different courts and administrative bodies treat similar issues.

In 2020 Staeven assumed a leadership role at Frost & Associates, LLC where he holds the title of Director. In that role he split his time between supervising firm operations and managing client matters. He oversaw internal processes, helped set firm priorities and remained actively involved in the legal work handled by the office. The directorship placed him at the intersection of case strategy and practice management.

Colleagues describe him as methodical. He approaches litigation and transactional questions with an eye for organization. He favors clear lines of responsibility when cases involve multiple parties or cross-jurisdictional elements. That practical orientation carries through to how he prepares for hearings and coordinates with opposing counsel.

Staeven’s license footprint includes the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. That licensing allows him to appear in courts and handle matters that span the three jurisdictions. He has navigated the differing filing rules and procedural requirements that come with maintaining active practice across state lines.

Outside of day-to-day case work, he has been involved in the administrative side of running a law firm. The director role has required budgeting, personnel decisions and policies to ensure consistent client service. He has also worked on developing internal procedures to streamline client intake and case management.

Today he continues to practice and to oversee matters for Frost & Associates, LLC, handling issues that arise under the laws of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
