About Shereese

Shereese Matthews built her academic foundation at Howard University, where she studied business management and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009 after beginning her studies in 2005. She went on to attend Charlotte School of Law, completing her juris doctor in 2017 after enrolling in 2014. Those years of study combined business and legal training and shaped the way she approaches client issues.

After law school, Matthews entered the Maryland legal community. She is admitted to practice in Maryland and has based her work in the state since completing her J.D. Her early years in practice involved adapting classroom lessons to real-world problems. Peers describe her as methodical; she organizes complex information into clear steps for clients.

Her background in business management informs how she evaluates matters that intersect with financial and organizational concerns. That training makes it easier for her to translate numbers and documents into practical advice. Matthews has worked on files that required careful document review and client counseling. She emphasizes clear communication and practical next steps when meeting with people who are unfamiliar with legal process.

Matthews joined The Carter Law Office, LLC, where she has continued to develop her practice. At the firm she handles a range of matters for clients across Maryland. Colleagues say she pays attention to detail and follows through on procedural matters. She is comfortable drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, and presenting information in client meetings. Her style is straightforward, preferring plain language over legalese when explaining options.

Outside of casework, Matthews keeps ties to legal education through continued study and professional development. She attends trainings and workshops to stay current on developments that affect litigants and business owners in Maryland. Those sessions feed into the way she advises clients, helping her offer options that reflect recent changes in law and procedure.

Her practice remains anchored in Maryland. She continues to serve clients from The Carter Law Office, LLC and to handle matters that require a careful reading of statutes, contracts, and court rules. She currently practices at The Carter Law Office, LLC, handling legal matters in Maryland.
