About Daniel R.
Daniel R. Ybarra built a career that moves from the classroom to the courtroom in a deliberate, steady way. He earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management from Utah Valley University in 2009. He then completed his Juris Doctor at Brigham Young University in 2012. Those years framed the combination of practical business sense and legal training that has shaped his practice.
While in law school he spent a summer as an extern at Baker & McKenzie LLP. That placement gave him early exposure to large-firm routines and cross-border matters. After graduation he launched The Ybarra Legal Group, LLC in 2012. He ran that firm as a founder and lawyer for a decade, handling a range of civil matters and building a local client base in Utah.
In 2022 he joined Woodbury and Ybarra, PLLC as a partner. The change signaled a new chapter in his practice life. At the smaller, locally focused firms where he has worked, he has balanced case work, client counseling and firm management. He has kept active in the legal community while managing those responsibilities.
Ybarra is a member of the Litigation Section of the Utah Bar, a membership he has held since 2015. He also belongs to the Central Utah Bar Association, a relationship that dates to 2012. Those affiliations reflect steady involvement in regional bar activities and continuing legal education.
Outside the law, Ybarra has pursued instructor certifications in winter sports. He holds PSIA Alpine Level I and CS Level 1 credentials, and he completed AASI Levels I and II through the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. Those certificates point to interests that extend beyond practice and occasionally inform his work on cases involving outdoor activities or seasonal recreation.
Colleagues describe him as practical and straightforward in client meetings. He tends to present options clearly, squarely laying out likely outcomes rather than embellishing prospects. His early experience at a large international firm and later years running his own practice give him a mix of perspectives on how clients want to be counselled.
Today he practices in Utah. His work spans litigation and general civil matters, and he divides time between client representation and firm responsibilities. He maintains active membership in state and local bar groups and continues to build his practice through both case work and community involvement. He currently practices law as a partner at Woodbury and Ybarra, PLLC, and maintains ties to The Ybarra Legal Group, LLC. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and client counseling in Utah.
