About Daniel P. Whitaker
Daniel P. Whitaker III built his legal foundation at the University of Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the Knoxville campus in 2013 and completed his J.D. at the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2016. Those years on campus shaped his understanding of both business and law and set the stage for his entry into practice.
After law school he entered private practice and became part of Pepper Law, PLC. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, allowing him to appear in both state and federal forums. His affiliations reflect a steady commitment to professional engagement; he is a current member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association, and he participates in the Belmont chapter of the American Inns of Court.
Outside bar membership he maintains connections to his alma mater through the Haslam College of Business Young Alumni Board. That role keeps him linked to the business community and provides a platform for discussing the intersection of business concerns and legal risk. It also gives him a regular perspective on the kinds of issues that companies and young professionals bring to legal advisers.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the way he approaches matters. He favors clear communication and practical options over legal jargon. In court filings and client meetings he tends to lay out choices plainly, weigh likely outcomes and timelines, and keep clients informed as a case moves forward.
At Pepper Law, PLC he works on matters that require advocacy in both the state and federal systems. His courtroom admissions enable him to represent clients before Tennessee trial courts and to take cases into the Middle District of Tennessee when federal jurisdiction applies. He balances litigation tasks with the advisory elements of practice, preparing clients for each stage of a matter and coordinating with professionals when cases touch on technical or financial questions.
Whitaker’s professional activity is a mix of practice and participation in legal and business communities. He sustains ties to local bar organizations and educational institutions while handling matters that arise in Tennessee courts and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He practices at Pepper Law, PLC, where he represents clients in state and federal matters in Tennessee.
