About Craig
Craig Cherney earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in 1993. Three years later he completed his legal studies at the University of San Diego School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1996. Those academic years set the foundation for a regional practice that now crosses state lines.
After law school Cherney became licensed to practice in Arizona, California and Nevada. Over the years he has worked on matters that required familiarity with the statutory and procedural differences among those states. That multi-jurisdictional footing has defined much of his professional path and shaped the way he approaches client matters.
In 2012 Cherney joined Canterbury Law Group. At the firm he has been involved in cases and client work that draw on his knowledge of three different legal systems. He handles filings and court appearances in state courts, prepares written submissions and coordinates with counsel in multiple jurisdictions when cases touch more than one state’s law.
Colleagues describe him as deliberate in preparation. He breaks complex timelines into manageable steps and keeps clients informed about practical milestones. He often manages the logistics when a matter requires filings or appearances in more than one of the states where he is licensed. He also handles written advocacy and client counseling, drafting documents and advising on procedural strategy when courts in Arizona, California or Nevada are involved.
Outside of court dockets and filings, Cherney’s work at Canterbury Law Group involves the routine demands of practice: meeting with clients, supervising case teams, and ensuring that deadlines are met across state lines. Those tasks are ordinary, but they matter in keeping cases on track.
He currently practices at Canterbury Law Group, handling matters arising under Arizona, California and Nevada law.
