Cody Goff serves as Senior Counsel at Johnson Marlowe LLP in Athens, Georgia, where he specializes in business law, environmental law, and construction matters. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2006. The firm, located at 335B Oconee Street, provides comprehensive legal services to businesses across Georgia. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2006, where he was part of the Editorial Board of the Georgia Law Review.
Prior to law school, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia in 2003. During law school, he completed internships with the Athens-Clarke County State Court and the Walton County District Attorney’s Office. In his practice, he represents businesses at all stages of operation, from startups to established companies. He assists with business formation, contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, and business dissolution.
He also represents commercial landlords and tenants in preparing and negotiating commercial leases. His construction law practice involves representing owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in drafting and negotiating construction contracts and resolving disputes related to construction defects, payment issues, and lien claims. He also represents property owners, buyers, and sellers in transactions involving environmentally impacted properties, advising on risks and legal strategies related to environmental conditions. Before joining Johnson Marlowe LLP, he gained experience through internships with the Athens-Clarke County State Court and the Walton County District Attorney’s Office.
He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has been practicing law for over 19 years. He is fluent in English and conversational Spanish.
